5 January Social Media Holidays + Ideas For Posting

Before your OOO goes live, did you check your January content calendar? If there are any empty slots, we’ve got a few social media holidays you can slide in there. No more waking up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve worrying about what you’re going to post in January. (And this saves you from interrupting Santa Claus!)

Month of January: National Hobby Month

Spotlight each of your team members’ hobbies outside of work. Quilting, horseback riding, RC car driving? That’s interesting! You’ll also learn something new about your teammates and maybe even find a new friend for enjoying activities outside of work.

January 10: Houseplant Appreciation Day

Got plants around the office? Give them each their own profile and personality. Plants can easily be compared to the cast of Succession, Friends, or Parks & Rec. You’ve got the easy ones that bring you joy (Phoebe) and then there are the difficult ones that could be gone for good after just one long weekend (Logan Roy). #IYKYK.

January 14: Dress Up Your Pet Day

No ideas needed. Dogs and cats and hamsters in any costume are worthwhile for a smile.

January 17: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Give this holiday the respect it deserves. A simple, meaningful quote is a great way to remember the reason for the day: the amazing man behind the peaceful civil rights movement. Want to do a little more? Donate to an advocacy group championing for equality and social change.

January 24: Compliment Day

Send a little compliment to your office neighbors, or take your crew out to the local coffee shop and pay for people’s coffee with compliments written on the cups. Leave compliments on all of your clients, partners, or followers’ posts!

January 28: Fun at Work Day

Okay, work isn’t fun every day but plan something fun for this day, like games in the break room at lunch or a scheduled meeting that’s really just gathering the team together to watch an episode of The Great British Baking Show together!

Did these ideas spark inspiration for your social media accounts? Tag us when you post! We want to see what you came up with.
